The power of us, humans.

I am worried about the direction this world is heading to. I read a story yesterday that gave me an extremely sad and fearful feeling. Injustice is the norm now. It is the norm towards anyone and anything, and that is horrific. We are human. What happened to that? We have a conscious as well as compassion. Or at least we used too. Because now, I believe many have lost that gift, the gift of love and care. They have become empty and dark inside, and those are the most people I fear for. As they have nothing to live for except for greed, hate, and selfishness.

Power and money, the essence of all evil that is spread upon this world. Why is it that some crave that much power and money? What about family, justice and happiness? What about purpose?

I put it upon myself to live every day aiming to make a difference. Not only for humans, but for anything that breathes. I call for change, from every living being. This evil around us, this injustice and inequality, will be forever a curse on our planet as well as on our children. Think about those you will leave behind. What will you leave them to? No ocean, no plants and trees, only guns and hatred?

Seven and a half billion people, yet they think of themselves as one weak being. They fear. But I do not blame them, as I also fear. But there comes a moment where it is important to remember your power as an individual. It is important to remember that if you rise, all will rise. And when that happens, the world will change. Those who make us fear will run. Those who make us fear will beg. And because we are human, we may forgive. But I would not blame us if we did not. I am aware I do not have this gift of forgiving those who have brought evil upon people and even inflicted fear on others. I do not forgive, because, they have lost their gift of being human, they have turned into just beings. They are empty and dark. And I shall never forgive those who are dark inside, unless it was not by choice, but as a result of also fear and injustice inflicted on them. I would only forgive, if they rise and find their humanity once again. If there will not be change now, it will never exist in our lifetime.

We have become careless, of not only those around us but also the planet in which we live in. Don’t get me wrong; I believe in hope and that change will come no matter what and when. Every single being will get exactly get what they deserve, whether good or bad. In fact, I am hope and YOU are hope. The children of this world are, and will always be hope. However, we have to fight for humanity. Fight for justice. Fight for equality. And most importantly, fight for freedom. It is important to realize that each action one takes every single day affects this fight. It is important to realize that you do not live alone. This is everyone’s fight. If you do not care about strangers, care about your family. If you do not care about humans, care about the planet. If you do not care about the planet, care about whomever you feel deeply towards. You are just passing along and you should leave a footprint that will take this world one step ahead and not one step back.

You will ask me then, what shall I do? I will tell you be good and be kind. Be strong and be courageous. Never give up and always have hope. Don’t ever accept ignorance and injustice. If you hold on to being human, you will do more than you could ever think or even imagine. As the gift of being human, is one, if not the only, greatest gift of all. Only then, you shall pass through pure and satisfied. And I can assure you my friend, that only then, this world will be forever ours.

An old man changed my life without knowing me or knowing he did

Right where I am sitting right now in a cafe, there is two huge sets of windows in front of me that are looking through a street where many pedestrians are walking, and there is an old man sitting next to me. He grabbed my attention because of, the difference between him, and every other person sitting in this room.

He is sitting with his cup of coffee with his hands around it, with no phone near him, no laptop in front of him, and no headphones plugged in his ears. He is sitting with nothing but a cup of coffee. Nothing but his thoughts, his mind, and his eyes looking straight ahead. Every other person in that coffee shop, is either talking on the phone, listening to music while texting and/or scrolling down their screen, or just sitting next to their phone that is plugged in the wall, waiting for it to turn on, not once glancing over the room, and looking at people around them. Some others are just doing what I am doing, working or studying on their laptop.

Every single person in this coffee shop does not know who the person next to them is, and frankly, does not even care to know. The only time they actually saw the people in the room is when they were looking for a place to sit. And when they did, they did not smile, or even say hello to the person in front of them, next to them, or even behind them. Their only focus is on the screen that is in front of them. Robots is what they are and what they look like. They are not the only ones guilty of that, I am too, and you probably are too. If not right in this moment, the moment right before it.

The man siting next to me is the only one in this room that is enjoying himself and living the moment, as we say. he is looking through the huge sets of windows in front of him, actually smiling at the few people who look up while passing by. He is looking at every single person that is passing by and enjoying his surroundings. he is smiling, not only at people who is passing by but to himself as well. He is enjoying himself, and his cup of coffee. Most of us wouldn’t understand what is there to enjoy and it is because we are functioned to only enjoy ourselves during everything but the simple moments.
He made me look up and look ahead and smile too. Smile at being present and alive. Many moments pass by and we do not even notice them. Many people pass by and we do not even see them. People are around us every single day and we don’t even interact with them 90% of the time, unless we have too. We are controlled by those screens. we are controlled by the materialistic things, that we have become unable to enjoy the simple things. Life is about every passing moment. it is about every memory you make every single day that you are present. it is not just about the moments you capture. it is not about the moments where your body was there but your mind wasn’t. it is not about the moments where you were consumed by the screen in front of you.
The man who was sitting next to me just moments ago stood up and looked over at me and told me goodbye. He changed my life because from now on, I will not be a robot, I will be a living being, living every moment passing by. I will, as much as I could, not have the screen consume me but rather be present in each passing moment.
Right after the old man left, a girl came and sat next to me, put her coffee down on the table and immediately held up her phone. The cycle began again but this time, it was not including me. All thanks to this stranger who was living in the moment right next to me.

You are NEVER alone

I have always wondered why is it that we sometimes feel alone? Although, most of the time, we are not alone at all. We might have our family by our side, our friends by our side, or even some might have their significant other by their side. But even though we might have all those people there for us, we still somehow feel alone. We still feel that there is no one there to listen to us. The reason no one is there to listen to those feelings we have, is because we are not necessarily able to put them into words. Sometimes even when we do, we do not even know what it is that we feel. So because this is the case, we think to ourselves, who could be there for me to listen to this “nonsense”?

That is not wrong to feel, you should not blame yourself that you feel the way that you do. It is okay. But, not for too long. What you should do is make yourself feel everything by letting it all out at once. Cry, draw, sing your lungs out, or go for a run. Do whatever it is that allows you to let it all out. But after you do that, you have to get yourself UP. Get yourself back on track, and get whatever it is you need to get done, done. And do not let yourself feel that way again. Don’t give yourself the excuse that you are not getting things done because you feel down.

It is important to know that NO ONE is ever alone, that YOU are never alone. No matter what, you are never alone. Look around you, look at those who care about you the most and want the best for you. That is the case even though you probably give them the least amount of time and attention. Look at those who have been there no matter what the situation was or what time it was, even if sometimes you forgot to thank them for it. Notice those around you because when you do, you will realize you are not alone. Even if you realize there is only one person you can think of that is by your side. The number of people never matters. All that matter in the end is for you to know that no matter how alone you feel, you are NEVER alone. There is always someone out there that loves you and wants what is best for you. There is always someone out there that is thinking about you right this moment, right where you are. There is also always someone else out there that wants to ask about you and know or make sure you are okay. And if you do look around you and you still do not find anyone, which is VERY unlikely, you are still not alone because I think you matter. Even though, you do not know me and I do not know you.

So if you ever feel like you are lonely or alone, remember this: YOU are NEVER alone. There is always someone that cares about you and is there for you no matter what. So look around you and get yourself up and back on track. Because “If you can look up, you can get up”- Les brown.

The circle around you

Surrounding yourself with giants can be one of the best things you can do to yourself. Giants are those who are positive, those who will bring you up and not down. Those that will teach you to rise and not fall. It is important to differentiate between the giants and the losers. If you surround yourself with losers, you will become a loser! It doesn’t have to be your choice, it will become you unconsciously.
What if those people are people you genuinely love? Well keep loving them, keep seeing them but limit yourself so you don’t become them. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices so you can rise, otherwise you will stay at the bottom. It is your choice. It might be hard now, but your future self will thank you for it.
“Birds of a feather flock together”. You hang out with will be a loser.

Life and our loved ones

Life. Life is a very interesting thing. The more I go on in life, the more I see, feel, witness and experience things. The good things are great, but the bad…the bad hurts. You feel it in your chest. Sometimes even in your heart.

Why is it that the bad things leave scars inside us? Is it because that’s what makes us grow? What makes us stronger? Yes, that’s why. Otherwise how would you change? If you can’t have something inside you that forces you to become a better person, how would you be a better person? It has to come from within. But still. The hard and difficult times, the ups and the downs, are painful. They make you question a lot of things in life. Like thinking that your loved ones are just going to always be there is a wrong way to look at things, you must change that. I have realized that this is not real life. People come and go. So you have to do everything you can to show them you care. You might think that they know, and that you don’t need to say it. That’s not right. You have to remind them as much as you can. That’s important. It is important that you pick up that phone and ask about your loved ones, because when the time comes you will wish you did. With the pain of losing someone, you will have the pain of guilt. Don’t do that to yourself. Pick up the phone and show you care.

This is life. No one lives forever. People go so other people can come. So you have to benefit from the time you have with them now.
Have your priorities straight. Yes work is important, yes your plans for today are important, but what’s more important is the people you love. You don’t have forever to tell them how you feel you have today. That is the closest thing you can guarantee.

You never know what that phone call will mean to that person. It might make their day. Maybe they really needed a reminder that they are loved. You don’t need to know what it will mean to that person. Do it because you want too, not because you have too. Show the people you love how much you love them through action, not words. Be there for people. You don’t live alone. And if you’ve lost someone, you must know that as much as it hurts now, time will heal you. They may be gone, but their soul and their memories will stay with you forever. “Everything will be okay in the end, if it is not okay, it is not the end”-Unknown.

The past

Sometimes you feel like you want things to go back to the way they once were, or maybe you just want them to stay the way they are right now. However things do not stay the same. Although, that is obvious, it still makes us unhappy at times.

You think about the memories, and all the good times you’ve had and you want to go back to that. You miss it. You wish you could’ve had those moments and memories last forever. You didn’t want to have to say good-bye to them. Sometimes you want those moments back so bad that it hurts. You would even tell yourself “I would give anything to go back to those moments”. While that might seem extreme, it still happens.

The only reason why you are thinking this way is because you can’t see any of the positivity in your life right now. You are focusing too much on the negative that it is overshadowing the good. If you disagree than I am right. You wont admit that you are focusing on the negativity, because nobody does. You need to understand that the time you are wasting dwelling and feeling sorry for yourself, is a time wasted that can be spent making new good memories. It is a time that will never be regained again.

If you think about it you’ll know that if you go back to those memories you want, you will find something else to complain about when you get there. Why? Because it is human nature.  So there’s no point of wanting to go back. Stop living in the past. Stop living backwards! There’s so much in life than this. If you miss those “good old times” that much, then why don’t you stop wasting your time and make new good ones. The old is gone, the only thing left of it is your memories. So instead of wishing to go back, enjoy the moments you have now.  Because them too will eventually be old, so let them be “good old times” too. Make new memories to look back too. Time is so precious. What you are wasting now, you’ll be regretting in the future. So don’t do that! “Make the rest of your life the best of your life!!!!”-Eric Thomas

At some point in our lives there will come a time where we will have to make a promise to someone or to something. Whether it is a promise to a friend, a promise to help someone, or simply a promise to you to reach a certain goal. It doesn’t matter they are all promises.  What matter is this, you HAVE to keep your promise. Why? Well because when it’s a promise to someone, you make him or her have certain expectations from you. Sometimes, you even make them excited and looking forward for whatever it is you promised to do. So then when you don’t keep your promise what do you think will happen? That excitement develops into disappointment.  Nobody wants to get disappointed. For that it hurts. Don’t be the cause for someone else’s pain. Especially when you can avoid it, which you most certainly usually can.

Don’t make promises if you know you might not be able to keep them. Don’t make people excited, if there’s a chance you might destroy that excitement. You might think, well it isn’t that big of a deal, I just promised to meet him or her somewhere with our friends but I can’t make it so it’s okay, our friends are there. Well no, it is not okay because that person might have been going to that gathering just to see you and when you cancel last minute, they get disappointed. You might promise someone that you will call him or her for a job interview in the next two days, but then you don’t, for whatever reason. To you, it’s fine you’ll call later. What’s the big deal? Well, it is a big deal. You don’t know how much that person was waiting for that call. The excitement of having a potential job, developed into a disappointment and it was simply because you didn’t keep your promise.

However small or big the promise is, keep it! Keep it because it is important for the person you promised. Never underestimate how important something is to someone. You don’t know and you don’t need to know. You made a commitment now man up and keep your word! If you can’t keep your word, then simply don’t make one. “A promise made is a debt unpaid”-Robert W.
